The Position

Who you are?

  • a motivated MSc student with data engineering and/or data science background to help with implementation of machine learning models (ML) and explainable artificial intelligence (AI) for predictions of pharmacokinetic properties

  • Alternatively, you graduated within the last 12 months of your Master's program

  • A good knowledge of Python programming and advanced ML techniques (like graph neural networks and transfer learning) is desired.

  • Experience in software engineering and clean code practices in combination with some familiarity in using and testing Rest APIs is desired.

  • Familiarity with Gitlab CI/CD pipelines is a plus, as well as working with merge requests, using tools like Conda, Poetry, and Docker.

Your Tasks

The role includes code annotation, cleanup, and standardization of models according to MLOps (Machine Learning Operations) guidelines, development of back-end and front-end environments, integration with existing front-end applications, and co-development of procedures to implement new features (e.g. visualization of application domains and explainable AI).

Additional tasks include optimization of the code for low latency, so that models can handle large amounts of data in a production environment, and building and maintaining tools and infrastructure for efficient software and AI/ML development (ex: Kubeflow, KServe…).

Interns will receive training and mentoring in the area of pharmacokinetics and drug discovery, and closely collaborate with the D&A MLOps team and colleagues across the pRED organization. A work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment will be an ideal opportunity to learn about various computational approaches in drug discovery and development.

Due to regulations non-EU/EFTA citizens must provide a certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory as part of the application documents.
